Overview

From the repository's own README, as read at the audited commit. Badges and raw HTML are left out.

Agent skills for git-loopy: an engineering workflow from idea to ship.

Every skill is a directory under skills/ containing a SKILL.md. They install into any agent supported by the `skills` CLI — GitHub Copilot CLI, Claude Code, Codex, Cursor, and others.

The engineering workflow here is primarily inspired by mattpocock/skills, adapted and extended for this toolchain. These skills are in turn sourced into and used by git-loopy — see Provenance.

Install

# every skill in this repo
npx skills add bradcstevens/git-loopy-skills

# a single skill
npx skills add bradcstevens/git-loopy-skills --skill=next

# see what's here without installing anything

Installs land in the current project by default (.agents/skills/ for GitHub Copilot, Codex and Cursor; .claude/skills/ for Claude Code). Add -g to install globally for your user, and -a to target one agent:

npx skills add bradcstevens/git-loopy-skills --skill=next -g -a github-copilot -y

To pull down later changes:

npx skills update

Two skills are worth installing first:

  • `next` — the router. It reads the live state of your work and names the one

action to take now, the skill that performs it, and the exact invocation. Model-invoked, so the agent reaches for it on its own; you can also ask for /next directly.

  • `/setup-git-loopy-skills` — run once per repo, before the first use

of any other engineering skill. It records where your issues live, what your triage labels are called, and where domain docs sit; the rest of the skills read that config.

The main flow runs idea → ship: /grill-with-docs → /to-spec → /to-tickets → /implement → /code-review. Everything else i

What it tells the agent

The instruction file, verbatim from the audited commit — this is the text the model reads, and the surface the audit's instruction layer examines. Quoted here so you can judge it without cloning anything.

description: A relentless interview that asks every frontier question at once, round by round.

---

Interview the user relentlessly until you reach a shared understanding. Map this as a **design tree**: every decision branches into the decisions that hang off it.

Work the tree in **rounds**. The **frontier** is every decision whose prerequisites are already settled — the questions you can ask *now* without guessing at answers you haven't heard yet. Ask the whole frontier in one round: number each question and give your recommended answer. Then wait for the user's answers before the next round.

Each round the user answers reshapes the tree — settled decisions push the frontier outward and unblock questions that depended on them. Recompute the frontier and ask the next round. A question whose answer depends on another question still open in this round belongs to a *later* round, not this one.

Finding *facts* is your job, never the user's. When a frontier question needs a fact from the environment (filesystem, tools, etc.), dispatch a sub-agent to find it — don't ask the user for anything you could look up yourself. Don't block on it: a running exploration is an unsettled prerequisite, so only the questions downstream of it wait for the sub-agent to report — ask the rest of the frontier now. The *decisions* are the user's — put each to them and wait.

The session is done when the frontier is empty: every branch of the design tree visited, nothing left silently assumed. Do not act on it until the user confirms you have reached a shared understanding.

Questions

What does the git-loopy-skills skill do?

Agent skills for git-loopy: an engineering workflow from idea to ship. Inspired by mattpocock/skills.

Is git-loopy-skills safe to install?

No — not without reading the findings first. The audit graded it D (69/100) and found 2 critical or high issues in the source. Each one is listed on this page with the file and line it is on.

What can git-loopy-skills access on my machine?

The audit observed that it reaches the network, runs shell commands and reads or writes files. Each of those is consistent with what it says it does. Secrets in the source: none found.

Which assistants does git-loopy-skills work with?

Its documentation mentions claude-code, codex, copilot and cursor. That is what the text claims, not a compatibility test we ran.

How current is this page?

The grade is for one exact copy of the source (7da8d61bfb5d), read on 2026-10-11. The repository is watched, and a new audit runs when it changes — this is the first audit.
