GHBLOCK
This is a MCP Server that allows LLM to interact with Rhino and Grasshopper directly.
Overview
From the repository's own README, as read at the audited commit. Badges and raw HTML are left out.
GHmcpserver provides an approach that allows designer to interact with Rhino and Grasshopper directly via LLMs, including to analyse .3dm file, do 3D modeling and generate GHPython automatically in Grasshopper based on user’s guidance.
This project is still under construction — and we’d love your help! - Feel free to open an issue if you encounter bugs or have ideas. - Pull requests are always welcome. - If you're interested in collaborating long-term, feel free to reach out to [email protected] — we’d love to have you on the team!

Installation
1. Clone the repository
git clone [email protected]:veoery/GH_mcp_server.git cd GH_mcp_server
2. Set up the environment
We recommend using uv:
macOS/Linux
uv venv source .venv/bin/activate uv pip install -e .
Windows
uv venv .venv\Scripts\activate uv pip install -e .
Make sure the virtual environment is activated before running or developing the project.
3. Configuration
- In the Claude Desktop, Navigate to Settings->Developer. You will see ``
Edit Config``.
- Click the ``

Questions
What is the GH MCP server?
This is a MCP Server that allows LLM to interact with Rhino and Grasshopper directly.
What tools does GH expose?
12 in total: 6 read-only, 6 that write, and 0 that can delete or overwrite. Every one is listed on this page with its risk.
Is GH safe to connect to an agent?
No — not without reading the findings first. The audit graded it F (58/100) and found 4 critical or high issues in the source. Each one is listed on this page with the file and line it is on.
What credentials does GH need?
It reads COMPUTE_API_KEY from the environment. Give it a token scoped to the least it needs — an agent that can be talked into calling a tool can be talked into calling it with your credentials.
How current is this page?
The grade is for one exact copy of the source (b7d61d6cc471), read on 2026-10-08. The repository is watched and re-audited when it changes.
