📌 What is this software?

The obsidian-llm-wiki software turns your personal notes into a powerful team of virtual assistants. It reads your markdown vault and creates a structured knowledge base. This base works with AI tools like Claude Code, Codex, and Gemini.

The software acts as a bridge. It takes the ideas you already wrote in Obsidian and lets AI models access them. These models use your specific information to answer questions. They cite your notes to prove their accuracy. They do not guess or halluciation facts. You gain a headless knowledge base that acts as a personal research expert.

🚀 System Requirements

Your computer must meet these basic standards to run this software:

  • Windows 10 or Windows 11.
  • A stable internet connection for the AI tools.
  • At least 4GB of free hard drive space.
  • An existing Obsidian vault with your notes.

📦 How to Install

Visit the official repository page to download the software.

  1. Click the link above to reach the main page.
  2. Look for the "Releases" section on the right side of the screen.
  3. Click the latest version link.
  4. Download the file ending in .exe for Windows.
  5. Save the file to your desktop.

Once the download finishes, double-click the file. Windows might show a security prompt. Click "Run" to continue. The installer will guide you through the setup. Choose a folder where you want to keep the application.

⚙️ Setting Up Your Vault

The software needs to read your notes to function. Follow these steps to connect your vault:

  1. Open the obsidian-llm-wiki application.
  2. Click the "Settings" tab.
  3. Locate the "V

Questions

What is the obsidian-llm-wiki MCP server?

Convert your Obsidian markdown vault into a six-persona MCP team for local LLM tools to provide cited, accurate insights.

What tools does obsidian-llm-wiki expose?

5 in total: 5 read-only, 0 that write, and 0 that can delete or overwrite. Every one is listed on this page with its risk.

Is obsidian-llm-wiki safe to connect to an agent?

No — not without reading the findings first. The audit graded it D (61/100) and found 8 critical or high issues in the source. Each one is listed on this page with the file and line it is on.

What credentials does obsidian-llm-wiki need?

It reads ANTHROPIC_API_KEY, CIRCLEBACK_API_KEY, FEISHU_APP_SECRET, GMAIL_CLIENT_SECRET, GMAIL_REFRESH_TOKEN, LINEAR_API_KEY, NAPCAT_TOKEN, OPENAI_API_KEY, VAULT_MIND_AUTH_TOKEN, WEFLOW_TOKEN and X_BEARER_TOKEN from the environment. Give it a token scoped to the least it needs — an agent that can be talked into calling a tool can be talked into calling it with your credentials.

How does obsidian-llm-wiki run?

It speaks stdio, so it runs as a local process your client starts. It is published on npm as @obsidian-llm-wiki/mcp at 0.1.0.

How current is this page?

The grade is for one exact copy of the source (0fccd2491969), read on 2026-10-11. The repository is watched and re-audited when it changes.
