What's new
Deployed between 10 and 13 October 2026. Full notes and the status of work in progress are in the changelog.
- Per-permission consent: any client may request reading, progress, decisions and sending, and the owner ticks exactly what to grant. The earlier read-only ceiling for new third-party registrations is retired.
- Connect-time sign-in: a new connection now receives the OAuth challenge that Cursor, Grok Bot and Claude use to start sign-in. Grok Bot works as a custom MCP server (verified 10 October).
- Fewer duplicates: copies of one message in other folders or Gmail labels no longer create new events. A new

Questions
What is the inboxmcp MCP server?
Connect mailboxes to your AI with built-in progress and optional owner-confirmed replies — hosted MCP docs
Is inboxmcp safe to connect to an agent?
The audit found nothing in the source that contradicts what it says it does, and graded it B (87/100). Grade A is held back for packages that have also passed a sandboxed behavioural run, which is why a clean server reads B.
What credentials does inboxmcp need?
No credential environment variables were found in its source, so it appears to need none.
How does inboxmcp run?
It speaks streamable-http, so it runs as a service you connect to over the network.
How current is this page?
The grade is for one exact copy of the source (8e11c4fb6d09), read on 2026-10-13. The repository is watched and re-audited when it changes.
