Know why hackathon projects win before you pick your idea.
CrafterWIKI is an open, provenance-first wiki of hackathons: the winners and what everyone else built, each project tagged by the mechanisms that made it stand out and the judging lenses it played to. A demo-first planning harness turns that evidence into a plan for your next event: recon → patterns → angles → judge panel → demo script → then architecture.
Live website: [crafterwiki.com](https://crafterwiki.com). 14 events, 36 analyzed projects and 88 additional roster entries. The site includes video previews, original resource links, event/year/placement filters and a downloadable builder brief. CLI, MCP server, static API and the existing Claude Code plugin remain available.
Next coverage work: project and media acquisition plan.

| Tool | Risk | Description |
|---|---|---|
deal | read | One random analyzed winner for inspiration, optionally filtered. Pass seed for a repeatable draw. |
event_brief | read | Recon brief for one hackathon: rubric mapped to judging lenses, judge profile, prizes, tracks, saturation (with base_rate_valid), known results and priors from the same event kind. |
get_record | read | Full record for a project, hackathon or roster entry slug, including sources and basis-labelled claims. |
list_facets | read | Allowed taxonomy values with definitions (domains, mechanisms, judging_lenses, ai_patterns, placement_status, event_kinds, ...). |
list_hackathons | read | Every indexed hackathon with kind, format, dates, results status and roster coverage. |
patterns | read | Frequencies of winning mechanisms, judging lenses, domains, AI patterns and build styles among confirmed winners, optionally stratified by event or event kind. Always report sample.analyzed_records. |
search_projects | read | Full-text and facet search across analyzed hackathon projects and roster entries, ranked by text match and placement. |
similar_situations | read | Projects that share a situation with yours (domains, winning mechanisms, judging lenses, AI patterns, stack), even across different problems. Give |

Questions
What is the crafterwiki MCP server?
Provenance-first wiki of hackathon winners and submissions, with a demo-first planning harness (CLI, MCP server, static API, Astro site, Claude Code plugin).
What tools does crafterwiki expose?
8 in total: 8 read-only, 0 that write, and 0 that can delete or overwrite. Every one is listed on this page with its risk.
Is crafterwiki safe to connect to an agent?
The audit found nothing in the source that contradicts what it says it does, and graded it B (89/100). Grade A is held back for packages that have also passed a sandboxed behavioural run, which is why a clean server reads B.
What credentials does crafterwiki need?
No credential environment variables were found in its source, so it appears to need none.
How current is this page?
The grade is for one exact copy of the source (838c29032264), read on 2026-10-13. The repository is watched and re-audited when it changes.
