Overview
From the repository's own README, as read at the audited commit. Badges and raw HTML are left out.
[!WARNING] We recently completed a full tool consolidation that includes renaming of existing tools. Please see the Toolset documentation for the complete list of new tool names. If this is a breaking change for your agents or skills, you can temporarily pin the version to @azure-devops/[email protected]This project gives AI agents access to Azure DevOps through the Model Context Protocol (MCP). Use the hosted remote server for the simplest setup, or run the local server when you need a stdio connection.

Built from this server's own package name, version and transport as found in its source — not copied from anyone's documentation, so it cannot drift against a page we do not control. Replace the environment placeholders with a token scoped to the least it needs.

Questions
What is the Azure DevOps MCP server?
The MCP server for Azure DevOps, bringing the power of Azure DevOps directly to your agents.
What tools does Azure DevOps expose?
3 in total: 3 read-only, 0 that write, and 0 that can delete or overwrite. Every one is listed on this page with its risk.
Is Azure DevOps safe to connect to an agent?
With care. The audit graded it B (83/100) and found 18 things worth knowing before you trust this server, listed below with the exact line each was found on.
What credentials does Azure DevOps need?
It reads AZURE_TOKEN_CREDENTIALS from the environment. Give it a token scoped to the least it needs — an agent that can be talked into calling a tool can be talked into calling it with your credentials.
How does Azure DevOps run?

How current is this page?
The grade is for one exact copy of the source (a76c5bbfbd10), read on 2026-09-23. The repository is watched and re-audited when it changes.
