Introduction

The NocoDB MCP Server enables seamless interaction with your NocoDB database using the Model Context Protocol (MCP). This server makes it easy to perform CRUD (Create, Read, Update, Delete) operations on NocoDB tables through natural language commands.

Example Prompt

[Get Records]
get data from nocodb, table: Shinobi

[Create Record]
add new row, with name: sasuke-2
add other row, with name: naruto-2

[Update Record]
update all rows, remove suffix -

[Delete Record]
delete all rows with name naruto

[Add Column]
add column with name: Age

update all rows, set Age to 18

[Delete Column]
delete column with name: Age

Example Prompt - Upload File

[Create table]
from the json files
put on nocodb database
table name is TableShinobi

JSON location file in: example_upload.json

Example Prompt - Bulk Create Records and Bulk Delete Records

Questions

What is the Nocodb MCP server?

nocodb mcp server

What tools does Nocodb expose?

14 in total: 4 read-only, 6 that write, and 4 that can delete or overwrite (nocodb-alter-table-remove-column, nocodb-delete-link, nocodb-delete-records, nocodb-delete-records-bulk). Every one is listed on this page with its risk.

Is Nocodb safe to connect to an agent?

The audit found nothing in the source that contradicts what it says it does, and graded it B (89/100). Grade A is held back for packages that have also passed a sandboxed behavioural run, which is why a clean server reads B. Separately from the audit: 4 of its tools can destroy data, so scope the token you give it to what you actually need.

What credentials does Nocodb need?

No credential environment variables were found in its source, so it appears to need none.

How does Nocodb run?

It speaks stdio, so it runs as a local process your client starts. It is published on npm as nocodb-mcp-server at 1.0.24.

How current is this page?

The grade is for one exact copy of the source (317c2705cab8), read on 2026-10-07. The repository is watched and re-audited when it changes.
