Overview
From the repository's own README, as read at the audited commit. Badges and raw HTML are left out.
InternGuard is a local MCP server that helps students check internship postings for scam risk, verify the company behind them, and get an informational read on whether they're eligible to take the internship. It runs as a stdio MCP server built on the official `@modelcontextprotocol/sdk`. The intended client is WorkBuddy (compatibility to be verified, see below); any stdio MCP client should work.
Setup
Requirements: Node.js 22 or newer (node --version), npm, git. No API keys are needed.

Questions
What is the Internguard-MCP MCP server?
This is our group project for hackathon with workbuddy as a sponshorsip. We manage to make an mcp tools for the workbuddy to help the user find a legit internship. Feel free to add to the repository
What tools does Internguard-MCP expose?
10 in total: 9 read-only, 1 that write, and 0 that can delete or overwrite. Every one is listed on this page with its risk.
Is Internguard-MCP safe to connect to an agent?
The audit found nothing in the source that contradicts what it says it does, and graded it B (89/100). Grade A is held back for packages that have also passed a sandboxed behavioural run, which is why a clean server reads B.
What credentials does Internguard-MCP need?
No credential environment variables were found in its source, so it appears to need none.
How does Internguard-MCP run?
It speaks stdio, so it runs as a local process your client starts. It is published on npm as internguard-mcp at 0.1.0.
How current is this page?
The grade is for one exact copy of the source (9e97e378e5fc), read on 2026-10-12. The repository is watched and re-audited when it changes.
